MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR WARDROBE – STORAGE IDEAS

Posted on by Lou Murphy of Lou Murphy Styles

I recently shared tips on how to weed your wardrobe.  Now that you have decluttered and detoxed your wardrobe, you can organise the items so it is easier to see what goes with what, create outfits and get dressed more stylishly!

HANG YOUR CLOTHES

Organise your wardrobe by garment – put your jackets together, then tops, trousers, skirts, dresses etc.  Then colour coordinate each garment section, e.g. red tops together, then blue tops, then neutral tops etc.

BOX UP YOUR SHOES

Keep shoes in their original boxes & stack them on top of each other in the bottom of your wardrobe. I can see the name/style of shoe on the box label but if not, write on the box, or stick a photo of the shoe on it.

If you don’t have the original shoe boxes, then try clear plastic boxes or a shoe rack.

Keep your necklaces tangle-free!

SCARF STORAGE:

I keep my scarves rolled up in a drawer, coordinated by colour, so I can easily see which ones would look good with my outfit. There are also many great scarf hangers – try Lakeland or Amazon – which you can hang in your wardrobe.

DE-TANGLE YOUR NECKLACES:

A belt hanger is a great way to hang your necklaces so that they don’t end up in a tangled mess. Another idea is to store them in a drawer with each necklace inside it’s own transparent (food) bag.

HANG OR ROLL YOUR BELTS:

A simple solution is to use a belt hanger and there are many different types to choose from, but you can also roll them and keep them in a drawer.
