The Herts Chamber team shared a celebratory drink over Zoom

Chief Executive of Herts Chamber, Briege Leahy, said

“I am delighted with this news and brought my team together over Zoom to celebrate the announcement. The Chamber have worked really hard to ensure that we offer a package of comprehensive news, information and support to our members; providing opportunities to hear from high-profile speakers and local experts on a wide variety of topics and offering regular chances to network with members and non-members alike – resulting in fantastic new business connections. This has clearly proved to be a winning formula.”

The Chamber compared the BCC report with their own data for 2019 to 2020 and found that among other things, the number of events delivered increased to 69, from chamber lunches to training webinars. This included, in February 2020, the first ever Women in Leadership Conference, which sold out; inspiring over 150 delegates from across the County to consider the proposition ‘Can you have it all: Women’s transition to Leadership’ through a line-up of successful businesswomen and entrepreneurs.

Despite being unable to host face-to-face events since March this year, due to COVID-19, that has not stopped Herts Chamber. Throughout the months of lockdown and working from home, a total of 67* online events have been held; from Virtual Networking and topical webinars, to the launch of the 2020/21 Inspiring Herts Awards and the brand-new Sector Summit Series, the Chamber have been working hard to continue to support Hertfordshire businesses in these challenging times.

As of May 2020, the Chamber reached more than 20,000 followers across their five social media accounts, with Twitter having the strongest following and Instagram seeing a large increase, by almost 100%, with the total number currently reaching more than 1,300 followers.
