The search to find the crème de la crème of county businesses got under way with a special launch event for the Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards 2022.
Now in its eleventh year, the awards celebrate the expertise and achievements of businesses and individuals and their contribution to the continued growth of the county.
The awards were launched at a glittering event at the historic Hatfield House Riding School on January 27, giving business leaders the opportunity to meet the judges and network with award-winning companies.
The awards, which are organised by Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, are made up of 19 categories, with two Special Recognition Awards chosen by the Chamber and the headline sponsors.
Briege Leahy, CEO of Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are looking forward to celebrating the future of the county’s businesses as we enter a new year, and it was fantastic to see lots of faces – new and familiar – at our launch event. It was a great opportunity for local business leaders to meet the category sponsors and past winners and finalists.
“We’re excited to see who enters the awards – known as the Oscars of Hertfordshire – and hear more success stories from the county’s most innovative businesses.”
The overall winner of the 2021 Inspiring Herts awards was JPA Workspaces, a St Albans-based supplier of sustainable design, re-location and furnishing solutions.
The judges commented that as well as overcoming its own unique challenges, the company had “identified an opportunity to use the rise of sustainability in the commercial world to develop and transform itself”. As a result, JPA Workspaces was selected as East of England regional winner at the British Chambers of Commerce business awards.
Fiona Edwards, Commercial and Sustainability Director from JPA Workspaces, said: “Winning the top award at Inspiring Herts meant an awful lot to us, particularly after such a difficult year for businesses. The recognition that came with winning the award really helped to raise the profile of our company and generated a lot of interest in what we do. I’d definitely recommend other businesses putting themselves forward for it.”
The Inspiring Herts awards, which are sponsored by Hatfield Park, are free to enter for both Chamber members and non-members.
