Hertfordshire digital marketing agency, Wagada, has won the Workplace Wellbeing Award at the ‘Inspiring Hertfordshire’ 2019 Awards.

The digital marketing agency, led by Managing Director, Cheryl Luzet was also Highly Commended in both the Excellence in People Development and the Best Use of Technology categories.

The ‘Inspiring Hertfordshire’ Awards, organised by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, were held at a ceremony at St Albans Cathedral on Thursday 13th June 2019.

The Awards were launched in 2012 to focus on, and celebrate, the expertise, achievements and outstanding contribution that businesses and individuals continually make to the growth of Hertfordshire.

Wagada has developed its workplace health and wellbeing policies since Managing Director, Cheryl Luzet set the business up in 2011, and they include a flexible and supportive working environment and pattern to enable employees to have the time to develop interests outside of work. The benefits to mental health are clear when staff are able to dedicate time to every area of life, including work, family and leisure.

This year has seen the introduction of Wagada Walking Wednesdays – an initiative that gets people away from their desks and encourages them to take a lunchtime walk through the countryside. It has not only helped the team’s mindfulness, but has massively boosted afternoon productivity.

Team building is vitally important and Wagada’s decision to run as a group in the local half marathon and 5k run for charity, saw our people enjoying both the physical and mental health benefits of the run itself but also the social aspect of training together while raising money for charity.

Finally, Wagada also works hard to organise regular social activity opportunities to socialise in a fun and relaxed environment to help build a tight-knit team of happy individuals who communicate well and understand each other.

Cheryl Luzet, Managing Director, Wagada said:

“We have put a lot of investment into making Wagada a great place for our team to work, so it is really special to receive this recognition from the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce.

“As a mum myself, it has always been important to me to be able to offer the team strong flexible working opportunities and work life balance. We love to see the team develop and grow and working in an industry that is ever changing, training and development have always featured high on our list of priorities.”
