Home Start Hertfordshire and St Albans Businesses

Well, what can we say! Our relationship with Home Start Hertfordshire is certainly a fun one!

From what started at a jelly, a mention from one of the SABs that Home Start had had their funding cut and they needed some help, then led to SABs dancing outside their businesses in a spoof Justin Timberlake video, to then getting down to the last 6 for the BAFTA Charity Film Awards, to Darts nights, to Golf Days, Bowling, to Naked Christmas Cards (yes, you heard us right), Brewery Tours, to Year Planners

In fact SAB’s raised a staggering £6,418.14 for Home Start Hertfordshire in 2016!

And we want to top that this year!

As well as some of the events and SAB Socials that we run, £5 from every SAB membership goes to Home-Start too!

So how can you get more involved?

Check out the Giving Up For Good (Causes) Campaign now launching!

Give something up that’s affordable and do-able and donate the money to Home-Start – look out for the new Home-Start Video coming out soon for ideas, however, here’s a few from some of the SABs

Home-Start is one of the leading family support charities in the UK.

Home-Start volunteers help families with young children deal with the challenges they face. We support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence and build better lives for their children.

Our support for families

Across all four nations of the United Kingdom 16,000 volunteers support 30,000 families and 60,000 children to transform their lives.

There are 269 local, independent Home-Starts. At the heart of each Home-Start’s work is home visiting volunteer support.

Families struggling with post-natal depression, isolation, physical health problems, bereavement and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend around two hours a week in a family’s home supporting them in the ways they need.

Home-Starts across the UK also support families in groups, hold day trips and Christmas parties and help access local services, as well as lots of other support.

We look forward to seeing your videos or hearing about what YOU are giving up for good (causes) 😉 – email us your videos or just let us know at hello@stalbansbusinesses.co.uk
